Welcome to my blog.

My name is Mariah.

I am a solo female traveler and travel blogger based in Portland, Oregon.

I grew up in Portland, OR, lived here for 20+ years and have explored a lot of the city and surrounding areas
I moved to Germany by myself and lived there for a year
I’ve traveled to over 18 countries and 12 states in the US, some on my own and some with friends
I have traveled specifically to 4 different countries completely SOLO
I’m always looking for new places to explore all over the world

I love to explore new places and cultures, and I believe that travel is the best way to learn not only about the world, but yourself as well.

I started this blog to share my experiences with travel, find some sort of purpose in my life, and to inspire other women (or any human) to travel the world, even if it means on their own.

Somedays, I feel I still don’t know myself very well and I’m still figuring everything out. Through traveling and every new experience I seem to figure something out, little by little. I want to share my experiences and maybe help others start to find themselves as well.

While I didn’t set out to be a “solo traveler”, I found it was hard to wait around for partners, friends or siblings to be available to do things with. I just had to do things myself. While I do love traveling with my friends, and I have had some great trips with my gal pals, I do things by myself all the time!

It really isn’t as scary or hard as you might think. I hope that my posts will help give you the confidence to take the leap and get out there. Life is too short to not do the cool, fun things.
